BANGKOK, Sept 29 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended a reception in Bangkok marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, using the occasion to invite Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Thailand and Chinese tourists to visit the country.
The event, hosted by Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei and his wife Miao Haiyan on September 23, saw over 2,000 guests, according to a post on the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok’s Facebook page.
Attendees included notable Thai figures such as Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister Borwornsak Uwanno, Vice President of Parliament and President of the Senate Mongkol Surasajja, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Chaiya Promma, Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Public Health Minister Phatthana Phromphat, Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Chairman Narongsak Putthaprommongkol, Tiochew Association of Thailand President Chim Chinnawiriyakul, TCC Group CEO Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, and CP Group Senior Vice-Chairman Thanakorn Seriburi. Representatives from the government, business sector, military, academia, Thai-Chinese community leaders, foreign diplomats, Chinese enterprises, and students also participated.

In his address, Ambassador Zhang noted that since the PRC’s founding 76 years ago, the Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, have achieved “two miracles”: rapid economic development and long-term social stability. He highlighted that this year is the final year of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, and the nation is accelerating industrial upgrading and technological self-reliance, leading to significant progress in new quality productive forces and high-quality development, which offers new momentum and opportunities for the global economy.
Ambassador Zhang also mentioned that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. He underscored that President Xi Jinping’s proposal of the “Global Governance Initiative,” which advocates for the principles of sovereign equality, respect for international law, adherence to multilateralism, a people-centered approach, and a focus on practical results, has received broad international support. China stands ready to work with all parties to promote a more just and rational global governance system and build a community of shared future for mankind.
The Ambassador also emphasized that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, calling it the “Golden 50 Years of China-Thailand Friendship.” He stated that bilateral relations are at their best historical period, characterized by increasingly close exchanges between leaders, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, vibrant cultural exchanges, and fruitful multilateral collaboration.
Ambassador Zhang affirmed that China regards the development of China-Thailand relations as a main priority in its neighborhood diplomacy. He expressed China’s willingness to be a reliable and dependable partner for Thailand and to work with all sectors of Thai society to steadily and profoundly advance the building of a China-Thailand community of shared future, writing a new chapter of glory for the next 50 years of bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Anutin congratulated China on its National Day, praising its great achievements over the past decades and its crucial role in global peace, prosperity, and development. He commended the strong, family-like bond between the Thai and Chinese peoples. The Prime Minister reiterated his call for Chinese businesses to invest in Thailand and for Chinese tourists to visit the country, wishing for continued stability and sustainable development in Thai-Chinese relations.
The evening’s program included a video showcasing China’s past year of development achievements and memorable moments in China-Thailand relations. Guests also visited a photo exhibition celebrating the 76th anniversary of the PRC’s founding, with displayed books such as Xi Jinping: The Governance of China and Abstracts of Xi Jinping’s Discourse on Chinese Modernization drawing significant attention.
Booths by Chinese enterprises in Thailand, cultural and tourism agencies, and overseas Chinese associations featured diverse displays on economic, trade, cultural, tourism, and culinary cooperation, all contributing to the event’s impressive atmosphere. Artists from the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Lanzhou Grand Theatre presented exquisite cultural performances, delighting the attendees.
